Current Good Manufacturing Practice
January 2, 2023
Current Good Manufacturing Practice is a system for ensuring that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. It is designed to minimize the risks involved in any over-the-counter production that cannot be eliminated through testing the final product.
CGMP covers all aspects of production from the starting materials, facilities, and equipment to the training and personal hygiene of staff. Detailed, written procedures are essential for each process that could affect the quality of the finished product. There must be systems to provide documented proof that correct procedures are consistently followed at each step in the manufacturing process - every time a product is made.
Our Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs are both internally and independently audited to ensure top quality products and that our performance measures are continually met. All products are subject to various analytical tests before, during and after manufacture. In addition, each batch of finished product is tested for color, appearance, odor, pH, and microbial activity. Set specifications must be met before the product is released for distribution or sale.
